Corry impressed with New Signing with Jay Spearing

Corry Evans says that he is left impressed with the impact made by Blackburn Rovers’ new signing, Jay Spearing.

The Bolton Wanderers midfielder has moved to Ewood Park on a short-term loan spell in order to get first team football. He may have featured in 27 matches so far this season, butSpearing has come in to partner Evans in the centre of midfield. After being in contention for a play-off spot only a few months ago, Blackburn Rovers have slipped down the table due to poor form. Having had just one win in the last five matches, Blackburn are currently outside the top ten.

Evans says thatSpearing has taken no time to settle into the midfield. Further, the fitness levels shown by the former Liverpool midfielder are so good that it feels likeSpearing has been part of this group of players since the start of the season. Since Spearing left Bolton, the club has been able to climb out of relegation trouble. They have been able to establish a 10 point buffer between them and the relegation zone. Evans will be hoping that the presence of Spearing lifts the former to the club. Further inconsistency from Blackburn continued after a 1-0 loss to Watford.

“Jay’s come in and not played a lot of football over the past few months but he’s been fantastic and he will only get better, sharper and fitter with more games. He looks as if has been here all season with us.Watford are sixth in the table and we’ve come away disappointed not to have won the game so it speaks volume of how we played. We’ve got to try and take maximum points and if we do I’m sure we’ll be right in there again,” said Evans after the loss to Watford.
