EVANS BACK TO FITNESS

Blackburn Rovers midfielder Corry Evans recently regained his fitness and is expected to play a crucial role in the rest of the championship matches. He was signing from Hull city in the last transfer window. He has featured in 12 matches so far for the club and has scored one goal. Blackburn were expected to challenge for the spot in the top six of the table since it would help them get back into the Premier league. However, the club has been unable to find any consistency in the results and it has limited them to be mid-table position despite the huge amounts of spending that has been carried out in recent years.

Despite this, Evans is confident that the club will be able to achieve a strong finish to the season. The former Manchester United man is also backing striker Jordan Rhodes to win the Golden Boot award this campaign. He has been one of the top scorers division, but the former Huddersfield player has been suffering from a crisis of confidence in recent matches. He has not scored in the last couple of matches for Blackburn. The club will be taking on Bournemouth in a match at Ewood Park, and Evans has said that the players should take out their frustration in this derby encounter.

“We were very down and flat after the game but it was more frustration than anything having been in the lead and then throwing it away in the manner that we did. The two goals we gave away were sloppy in the sense that was one a set-piece and the other was a mix-up in the penalty area. But we’ve got to move on now and take that frustration into our next game,” said Evans. Blackburn have been defeated in the last two matches.
