With Cristiano Ronaldo set to make his second debut for Manchester United on Saturday afternoon against Newcastle United at Old Trafford, he has been tipped to end the season as the league’s top scorer. Ronaldo has already missed three league games for United because he was still at Juventus during that period but according to former Premier League player Corry Evans, that cannot stop him from not being among the goals every week. Manchester United confirmed that they agreed a deal with Italian Serie A giants Juventus for the transfer of the Portugal international superstar and it is still the talk of not o ly the country but the whole world.

Ronaldo finished last season as the top scorer in the Italian Serie A and Romelu Lukaku came second after a blistering campaign for eventual title winners Inter Milan. The two players have now switched leagues in their careers and are now both in the Premier League, meaning that there are two more players who will be challenging for the Premier League golden boot at the end of the season.

Tottenham Hotspur’s Harry Kane, Liverpool’s Mohamed Salah, Chelsea’s Romelu Lukaku, Everton’s Dominic Calvert-Lewin, and Ronaldo’s teammate at international level Bru o Fernandes are part of the contenders for the gong at the end of the season but Evans believes that Ronaldo is still a lethal goalscorer and will be the one to win the golden boot award for the current season.

According to Evans, of all the contenders for the individual award, Ronaldo is the one who has the best fitness record. He says that the record will go a long way in distinguishing the players and if that ever comes into question, Ronaldo would definitely be the one to come out on top.
